New look CSFS Research Grant for 2025
The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences has a long history of supporting the forensic community. One of our key aims and objectives is to support and encourage research and development within forensic science, something we have done through the Research Scholarship and more recently the Research Grant.
As the sector evolves and changes with time the Society has reviewed the current Research Grant award and to offer a more dynamic approach, we are launching a new Research Grant scheme. The Society will now award two £5,000 grants each year. These will look to boost research projects undertaken by both those in the academic field and practitioners, particularly those in the earlier years of their career and/or with limited access to funding. As recognition of the breadth of the forensic science community there will be one award for a project led from within the academic field and one award for a project led from within the practitioner field.
The Grants will be open to all professional level members of the Society (Associate, Member, Fellow, Chartered) for proposals related to research projects in forensic science, criminal justice, forensic science policy and/or practice, forensic medicine, crime investigation, or forensic science/crime investigation education and training.
Full details of the award and application can be viewed at www.csofs.org/awards/research-grant/
Closing date for applications is 31st March.
