Supporting Practitioners
The Society is committed to supporting our members, and all forensic practitioners (public or private, large or small) and academics, with their quality standards across the sector.
We offer an Educational Quality Standards scheme to support and assist the continual improvement of overall quality of Forensic Science HE provisions.
Members can access CPD through both CSFS events and external events.
We have also developed the GQMS, Generic Quality Management System.
CSFS Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) offers forces a practical and theoretical assessment that contributes to the development of good practice.
What do we have now?
The Society already offers a wide range of professional development opportunities for individuals working in the field. We run regular conferences around the country and also partner with others that may be of interest to the Society. These events provide an excellent arena for communication collaboration and networking with fellow practitioners, academics and students.
It also gives you the chance to development your knowledge and understanding through the high calibre presentations.
Reading & Support
We publish a peer reviewed journal (Science and Justice) dedicated to forensic science 6 times a year, which contains high quality cutting edge articles, editorials and meeting reports.
