Speaker – Ruth Buckley, Metropolitan Police Service

Celebrating 125 years of forensic science at the Met

Ruth is the Forensic Consultant for Crime Scene Examination at the Metropolitan Police Service, providing technical leadership across the discipline. She is actively engaged in national and international forensic research, chairing the CSI Research, Innovation and Technology Workstream and the ENFSI Scene of Crime Working Group.

With a background in academia, she continues to support university programmes and supervise research projects. A STAR bid alumnus, her 2023 project focused on rapid fingermark retrieval. She now contributes to advanced imaging research and leads technology initiatives, including collaboration with the Norwegian Police, to promote innovation across policing.
