Call for Survey Participants PhD Research – Use of Drones in Forensic Investigations

 

My name is Clare Barrett MCSFS, I’m a PhD researcher at the University of Derby. My PhD research explores the current and potential future utilisation of drones in forensic scene investigations. The aim of the research is to understand the value of drones and other modern technologies to enhance scene examinations.

I am looking for participants to take part in a survey, run in collaboration with a UK police force. Participants should have experience and knowledge in field-based forensic investigations with some knowledge or understanding of the use (potential) use of drones. Regardless of whether these technologies are currently used or not, insights into attitudes towards these technologies are also valuable information.

All participation is voluntary, confidential and anonymous. No questions are designed to elicit tactical information. Each question has the option of “prefer not to say”. Ethical approval has been provided by the University of Derby for this survey.
