Call for participants
Analysing, Interpreting, and Evaluating Bloodstains: Current Methodologies and Objective Criteria Survey
This is a call for participants to complete an online digital survey around the current methodologies for classifying, interpreting, and evaluating bloodstains.
The survey is part of a larger PhD project by PhD researcher Emma Hook at Staffordshire University.
The purpose of the survey is to gather data on the current methodologies by Bloodstain Pattern Analysts to classify, interpret, and evaluate bloodstains; and the accuracy of these methodologies.
The survey consists of a series of questions which fit into three broad categories:
- Employment, Experience, Education, and Training
- Current Classification, Interpretation, and Evaluation Methodologies
- Assessing Current Methodologies, where participants are asked to classify ten bloodstain patterns of varying complexity using digital photographs.
Participation is open to Bloodstain Pattern Analysts from any country, but participants must be reasonably fluent in English.
The survey is available at the following link: https://staffordshire.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_ePD1jYb8zTJLWF8
It will take about 50-60 minutes to complete, and the link will be open for six months.
All data is anonymous and aggregated, so no individual data is collected and reported. More information can be found on the survey datasheet at the link provided.
Many thanks for your time, effort, and participation!
