UKAS LAB 52 Draft is now open on the UKAS website for consultation
UKAS is now seeking feedback on a new draft document LAB 52 which covers Conducting forensic testing activities at practitioners’ home address.
I would strongly urge members from all areas of Forensic science to comment on the draft, as this will have massive impact on smaller organisations should they ever seek accreditation, if they conduct work on a laptop in remote locations. Members from larger organisations and Police Forces who are already accredited, may also wish to raise how this applies to remote working in any location and how UKAS plan to assess homes and the various remote locations that we all use for work of a non-sensitive nature.
Please have your say directly at www.ukas.com/resources/publications/publications-for-consultation/ or send comments anonymously to info@csofs.org and I will forward them to UKAS. Closing date for the consultation is 30th September 2024.
