Much has been written about PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) over the years. Originally, and to a large extent, this was an area mainly focussed on the armed forces, and for good reason. However there are many forms of exposure to stress in many occupations. Crime scene investigators and first responders are often called to deal with horrific sites. The strain of this cannot, and should not, be downplayed.
In these uncertain times the strain on our mental health is exacerbated and the Society, like everyone, is aware that we are all under extra pressure, at work, at study, at home.
As part of the Society’s support of the forensic community, to provide information on mental health, we have invited an expert psychotherapist to take part in our Webinar series to talk about different types of trauma and offer some guidance and support.
