Forensic Science – the term that conjures up a glamorous sexy expectation which excites, fascinates
and intrigues many people. Yet it’s an incredibly serious subject providing information to the justice
sector to help them decide on a particular accusation. The outcome of which can often impact on an
individual’s freedom by deciding on their guilt or innocence.
Forensic Science can be defined as “The application of science and technology, to serve the purposes
of the law, to inform an investigation as a means to support the identification or elimination of a
suspect in a crime.”
Within the pages of Forensick! The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences (CSFS) hopes to offer
guidance, information and support to you through your forensic science journey. Be it studying
forensic science at degree level, pursuing a career in the sector, latest (and we hope interesting)
research, events or simply news.
We are also keen to hear from any of you..if you are working on relevant project topics or articles for
