In 2015 28 candidates applied.
Employers within the forensic science sector have indicated they are extremely impressed with the breadth and depth of the Pre-Employment Assessment of Competence (PEAC) and some are considering placing it as a desirable feature on their entry level role specifications.
Candidates who sat the assessment in 2015 said it was a great way to learn about exactly what employers may be looking for and also to get an opportunity to talk to the Assessors, all of whom have considerable experience in the field.
Alice Smith, UWE, PEAC candidate 2015: "it can be a challenging experience to find a job once you have finished university, with forensic science jobs being highly sought after. I wanted to enhance my skills and experiences to showcase myself as a candidate for any prospective jobs I may apply for. It was a very easy decision to participate in the Pre-Employment Assessment of Competence.....I am thrilled to have passed this course and cannot recommend this course enough. It is a fabulous experience that you will learn a lot from and employers have indicated that candidates applying for applicable roles that have completed this course would be looked upon favourably in comparison to graduates without it."
Roger Crowley, Head of Forensic Investigation, Crime Support Command, Derbyshire Constabulary: “PEAC is an excellent tool in ensuring that the police service recruit the right person for the forensic science vacancy”
