My name is Kate Barnes and I work at the University of Derby. I am currently undertaking some research within the field of entomology and am seeking volunteers within both the forensic and legal professions to compete a short on-line survey. This survey aims to capture research on the chain of entomological evidence from crime scene to court. If you have ever worked with entomological data (collection, interpretation, presentation as expert witness, teaching or research), I would very much appreciate you completing this short 24-question survey. Most questions ask you to decide on whether you agree or disagree with a statement, so it should only take between 5-10 minutes to complete.
The data will be assessed to see where current strengths and weaknesses in the chain of entomological evidence from crime scene collection to court lie, and how these align with current research. This will be used to write a paper that will be submitted to the special forensic entomology edition of the journal Insects in December.
I would really appreciate you taking part as well as passing it onto any colleagues that may also have experience in forensic entomology. The questionnaire can be found at: https://derby.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_74iSyGrXsEJXxB3 (Closing date for survey 13th November 2020)
Thanking you in advance.
