Don’t break the chain! Be a link!
Dr Lisa Smith - previous LINK Coordinator. "The Society was founded in 1959 by Professor Stuart Kind and is therefore one of the oldest and largest forensic associations in the world. The main aim of the Society is to encourage communication and collaboration by providing an arena in which forensic practitioners, researchers, academics and those working in related fields can congregate, communicate and invoke development of areas such as best practice, research, publication, quality and ethics in forensic casework. We urgently need enthusiastic members in each organisation to spread the word, help to encourage new members and promote Society events and thus be the LINK between you, your organisation and the Society.
As a LINK your main responsibilities will include:
To pro-actively publicise the Society and encourage membership. |
|
Promote and publicise meetings and events. |
Be the single point of contact for the members within your organisation - feedback what members want and find ways to enhance the membership experience. |
Encourage people to reply to the 'Call for Papers'. |
Determine whether there is any funding at your organisation for conferences and try to set up a scheme for people to sign up to go to them. |

What's in it for me?
As a Link Member, every year you will be given a Link Code. When someone uses that code as they are paying for their annual membership that use will be recorded. For everyone who uses that code, you will receive £5 per head off your membership subscription and/or conference booking for the following year.
...so come on contact us today and earn yourself some money-off - it's also is a great way to network and looks good on your CV.
A list of organisations who have LINK members can be seen over to the right of this page. If your organisation isn't there it may be that it's because it already runs a 'block' scheme, where large employers sign up and pay for their employees - but if you're not sure just contact the office and ask. If you're interested in the role, we would really like to hear from you.
