Professional Background
Originally from Dundee, Scotland Jim completed his undergraduate studies in Dundee before travelling to Strathclyde University for the Post Graduate Diploma in Forensic Science. After working for a year as a DNA specialist for the Forensic Science Service, in 1994 Jim began as a CSI with Derbyshire Constabulary. In 2001 he completed the Crime Scene Manager course at the College of Policing. Jim also specialises in CBRN CSI, DVI and forensic training.
CSFS Background
Jim gained the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences Diploma in Crime Scene Investigation in 2009 and was then involved as an Examiner for the Diploma. Jim is also an assessor for the pilot CPC in Crime Scene Investigation and is a member of the CPC Sub-Committee.
