Professional Background
Helen Davies has worked as a Forensic Biology Reporting Officer since 2001 and has extensive experience in the laboratory, at crime scenes and giving evidence at court as a Expert Witness. She is an expert in the interpretation of DNA profiles, blood pattern analysis and the examination and interpretation of body fluids.
Helen has gained experience in the prosecution and defence of criminal cases. She was a Lead Scientist at LGC Forensics and reported hundreds of cases for many police forces across the UK. She is currently an Independent Expert Witness providing case work consultancy and expert advice to defence counsel.
On the undergraduate forensic science programmes at Manchester Metropolitan University, Helen teaches crime scene science, DNA profiling and the role of a Reporting Officer. She is currently completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice.
CSFS Background
Helen joined the Society as an MSc student in 2000 and maintains Professional Membership status. She is the current Chair of the Educational Quality Standards Accreditation Sub-Committee
