Professional Background
Originally a Grenadier Guard in the British Army a transfer to the Royal Military Police (RMP) eventually led to the Forensic Department in 2003. A busy time due to the Iraq war all forensic work across the world was directed and catered from this office (less Germany) which led to post mortem examinations in Brunei, exhumations in Kenya and Iraq and many hundreds of post mortem examinations of those British Service men and women from conflicts around the world. The office also carried out the submissions for all RMP forensic items to outside providers across the world (again less Germany).
On leaving the military in 2006 Gary designed and built the first fingerprint laboratory in the Caribbean also designing/delivering the training for local nationals to man the department. These members of staff were then mentored and supervised for two years. At the same time he attended crime scenes on a daily basis while other members of the team trained local staff to become CSIs. Once trained the staff then stepped into managing and mentoring roles.
Following this Gary was approached by the Government of St Lucia and St Kitts & Nevis to provide expert advice and guidance on national security issues.
In 2011 he returned to the UK where Complete Forensics was born to help raise standards in education at FE level and inspire younger people to take part in science-based studies.
Since 2013 Complete Forensics have delivered the Forensic Science Competition on behalf of Find A Future as part of the WorldSkills UK and Skills Show organisation. This competition has produce five Gold medal winners, five silver and five bronze medal winners but more importantly so far over 250 young people have taken part and discovered skills they didn’t know they had.
