CSFS President Sheila Willis invites you to an informal evening Q&A with former President Professor Jim Fraser.
"One of the lasting legacies of Covid-19 will be our familiarity with the virtual world. The Society has already used this as an opportunity. The lunchtime webinars are proving popular and the annual conference was very successful. The fear is that we forget how much added value we gain from building networks and chatting with colleagues. For this reason, we hope we will return to some form of in-person conferences in 2021.
Meanwhile I propose we tap into the experience and expertise of some of our established members to give us some of the reflective food for thought that often come from the chats in the bar at the end of a meeting. My hope is that by hosting some Q and A sessions with long standing members of the profession, we can provide stimulation over and above the more formal learning.
Jim has occupied many roles in the forensic science process. He worked in laboratories in the Met and Edinburgh, he was Head of Forensic Investigation in Kent and an academic who undertook a number of high profile case reviews. Jim has distilled some of his learning from these various experiences into a recently published book called “Murder Under the Microscope – a personal history of homicide”. I am looking forward to discussing this and all matter of forensic science with him. I hope you will join us and provide some feedback on the value of this approach 'Focus is on Forensic Scientists' "
