This conference will be held at the Jury's Inn Hotel, Godstow Road, Oxford. OX2 8AL.
Overview: The event will examine new strategic approaches to the harnessing of images and the potential to deliver new high-value tools to the hard-pressed Law Enforcement and National Security communities throughout the UK.
Chaired by the Lord Dear QPM (formerly Sir Geoffrey Dear, retired HMIC and former Chief Constable of the West Midlands Police), the conference will include speakers from Law Enforcement, Counter Terrorism, Forensic Science, Advanced Imaging, Image Management and Perception Science.
At a time of increasing cost pressures and other numerous demands on the Law Enforcement community, the key aim of the event will be to harness the expertise of both speakers and participants towards a common vision for optimising the value of imagery, its acquisition, storage, analysis and management in the fight against crime, disorder and terrorism.
The day will cover the strategic, operational and professional aspects of the subject, including the necessary changes to systems and procedures, as well as to training, education and professional qualification necessary to build the use of imagery into an established forensic science – contributing to Law Enforcement in the 21st Century as much as fingerprint technology did in the 20th and continues to do today.
The workshop is eligible for 5.5 Society CPD points.
