Early career ‘Council’ representative (co-opted)
The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences is continuously striving to ensure it supports its members across the entire forensic community. To this end the Council of the Society wish to include within its number an ‘early career’ representative. The aim of the role is to represent the early career Affiliate members.
This role would be as a co-opted member of Council, for up to 2 years. The role would not have any rights or responsibilities as a Trustee (for the purposes of the Charter and Bye Laws), but would carry voting rights on substantive issues.
The ‘early career’ representative would be required to attend the 3 Council meetings per year. They would also be required to work with CSFS Council and office staff to develop strategies to engage with members of CSFS not currently represented on Council (particularly with a view to raising membership and increasing engagement), for example through online surveys, marketing materials, email campaigns etc. They would be expected to report their progress at each Council meeting and raise any relevant issues.
Those eligible for the role must be:
- An Affiliate member of CSFS (for at least 2 years)
- Have a maximum of 5 years’ experience in the Forensic Sciences
- Be employed in a forensic science role currently
