When the Diploma was operational the Society presented a special award to the student who demonstrated exceptional proficiency in these professional examinations by achieving the highest aggregate mark.
The Society acknowledged and celebrated successful completion of the Diploma in a range of subject specialisms. These included Crime Scene Investigation, Fire Investigation, Firearms, Document Examination and Identity Documents.
Graduates were invited to the prestigious prize giving cermony each Autumn where they were formally awarded the Diploma and accepted as a Professional Member of the Society.

The prize consisted of a cheque to the value of £500, kindly sponsored by Elsevier, and a framed certificate.

The Diplomas have been rested to allow for the introduction of Certificates of Professional Competence
