Professional Background
Craig Adam has been strongly involved in forensic science education and research for over 16 years including time as the course director for the forensic science programme at Keele University. Originally a physicist by training, he has particular interests in the physiochemical characterisation of forensic materials, documents analysis and blood dynamics, as well as mathematical and statistical aspects of the discipline. He has published work across all these areas in recent years, including the textbooks "Essential Mathematics and Statistics for Forensic Science" (2010) and "Forensic Evidence in Court: Evaluation and Scientific Opinion" (2016).
Craig has taught a broad range of topics across the physical science-based end of the forensic discipline including forensic statistics topics, and has developed many laboratory experiments and exercises to complement his lectures. He also has had extensive experience in programme development, quality monitoring and enhancement and accreditation, as well as external examining at BSc, MSc and PhD levels. He is currently an Honorary University Fellow at Keele University.
CSFS Background
Craig has been a member of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences (CSFS) and its predecessor body since 2010 and is currently an approved assessor for the CSFS University Educational Accreditation Scheme and a member of the Educational Accreditation Committee.
