Professional Background
Chris is the Proprietor of Helston Forensics, a privately owned company. He has been a gunmaker for 49 years and a Registered Firearms Dealer for 43 years. He holds a Section 5 Authority granted by The Secretary of State and is currently authorised to possess 25,000 prohibited weapons. His activites include the design and manufacture of specialist military and civilian weapons, and accessories, supplier of small arms and ordnance to police and military forces worldwide. He conducts the examination of weapons and ammunition and prepares reports for the Legal Profession, Coroners, Police Forces and the Ministry of Defence.
Chris lectures on firearms matters including Forensic Ballistics to UK Police Forces, HM Customs & Revenue Officers, The Ministry of Defence and Forensic Science establishments.
Chris was a Speciality Assessor for 7 years for The Council for the Registration of Forensic Practitioners. He designs and manufactures forensic equipment relating to firearms and ammunition.

- Technical Adviser to AFTE the Association of Firearms and Tool Marks Examiners
- Visiting Fellow of Cranfield University at the Shrivenham Campus (Defence Academy)
- Registered by the CRFP as a Forensic Practitioner, registration No 00371
- A Council Member of the Deactivated Weapons Association.
CSFS Background
Chris was appointed as an assessor for the CPC/CPD Scheme in 2016 and is a Professional Member of the Society.
