Professional Background
From his previous career in law enforcement, Ben has over 6 years' experience with North Yorkshire Police, as an Investigator within the Digital Forensic Unit (DFU). In this time, he has investigated cases including murder, large scale fraud, child abuse, grooming, online harassment, missing persons, infanticide, internal investigations, and dangerous driving. He also worked actively on the DFU's ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, fulfilling the role of Acting Technical Manager for the final 6 months of his time with the force.
Ben is now a Senior Lecturer at Teesside University and course leader for the Computer and Digital Forensics bachelor's degree course. Ben also teaches on the Digital Forensics and Cyber Investigation, and also the Crime Intelligence and Data Analytics Master's degree programmes.
CSFS Background
Ben has been a Professional member since April 2016 and is currently an assessor for the Educational Accreditation Scheme. He was also previously an assessor for the PEAC Scheme.
