The Society wishes to recognise the achievement of the most meritorious student in an accredited undergraduate degree programme or any other postgraduate degree programme in forensic science or related topic.
Most Meritorious Undergraduate Award
The prize includes:-

- 1 year's complimentary Associate membership of the Society
- A framed certificate presented at the Society's Awards dinner
- Attendance at the Society Awards dinner funded by CSFS
- Award winners and nominations

Most Meritorious Postgraduate Award
The prize includes:-
 |
- 1 year's complimentary membership of the Society (Affiliate/Associate)
- A framed certificate - presented at the Society's Autumn Conference
- Award winners and nominations

Conditions:
In order for the student to be eligible for consideration for the Society awards, candidates must have attained either:-
- An undergraduate (BSc or MSci) degree from a course which is accredited by the Society (Undergraduate Award)
or
- be expected to attain an undergraduate degree which is accredited by the Society at the end of this current year (Undergraduate Award)
or
- An instructional MSc degree, the title of which contains the word "forensic" and the content of which contains a significant forensic element as judged by the award adjudicators. (Postgraduate Award)
In addition:-
a) the postgraduate course must include a literature based or laboratory based individual project worth at least 60 credits.
b) the student must have completed their degree within the last 12 months and for postgraduate students all examinations and course material must have been attained at the first attempt.
c) an overall mark for the student must be at least 70% (based on data available)
Application of the awards will include submission of the following documents:-
- a one A4 page summary from the course coordinator/leader nominating the student with details of the academic marks acheived to date and expected final result.

- Closing date for Postgraduate Award - 31st July each year
