I would like to start off by saying a huge thank to the many people who have contributed to the development of the site, particularly our CEO, the office staff and Council.
I do hope you like the new look and find the the layout easier to navigate around. We have tried to provide greater amounts of information in a format that that is easy and intuitive to use.
Forensic Science has seen significant changes within the last 5 years. We at the Society aim to evolve to keep up with the pace of change and communicate with Members and the wider community more effectively.
As you will be aware last year we conducted a survey of members and non-members working within the sector. I wish to express my thanks to all those that responded so honesty. One of the key messages was that you asked us to improve our communication methods and expand our range of offerings, this website is just one of the things we have done to address that. I hope that we will now continue to expand on this and quickly become a huge resource and the "go to" website for quickly and easily tracking emerging information.
You also wanted us to have more meetings and conferences and we have delivered on that too. In September we have the Fire Conference in Leeds on the 21st & 22nd September and in November we have the Annual Autumn Conference, AGM & Postgraduate Research Symposium on the 5th & 6th November in Manchester, so please do consider joining us at these events - this is another great networking opportunity and an ideal chance to tell us how we can improve even more. The Annual Awards Dinner is a show case of the achievements of individuals and groups in the Forensic Science community and is a great way to find out more about how to get more involved in the vast array of things that we have to offer.
We are also working hard at enabling the Society to be an umbrella Chartered Society for other like minded Societies and organisations and will hopefully, in the near future, be able to make some exciting announcements on that front.
Again in all that we do we ask you to give us feedback on how we are doing and please do let us know your thoughts on the new website. Thank you for your ongoing support
